South Wales Gay Mens Chorus is run by a small but very dedicated team who make sure the choir is always at its best, financially solvent and well organised. All committee members are also choir members, we meet on a six weekly basis.

Overall responsibility to ensure SWGMC (the charity and the committee) runs effectively in accordance with requirements. Chairs meetings, facilitates participation and organises agenda; ensures feedback to members on decisions made.
Prepares notes of committee meetings; manages the Email account; liaises with correspondents and manages the bookings and diary; draws issues to the attention of the committee as appropriate
The MD is appointed by the committee and sets our artistic direction, repertoire, performances and concerts. Liaises with committee for the release of funding to purchase copyrighted music.
Develops and delivers the creative vision for performances; considers and designs choralography and other staging issues; reviews choir uniform and design periodically; leads on concert day staging direction in partnership with Musical Director.
Monitors our finances and bank account; drafts reports and updates for the committee; prepares all management information for our accounts; manages banking arrangements and submits returns as appropriate to governing
organisations; pays musician fees and other invoices.
Management of website updates and content; plans and prepares content for our social media channels; liaises with chair and others on media releases and publicity opportunities.
Looks for suitable funding opportunities; prepares grant applications and liaises with funding organisations; monitors grant activities to ensure appropriate spend; ensures funders are recognised appropriately in our outputs.
Proactively engages with those with additional needs; seeks opportunities to ensure greater inclusion; considers access and inclusion issues in all committee considerations; leads on safeguarding advice and issues
A link between choir members and the committee; collects and filters members’ views; acts as the voice of members at committee meetings; arranges social calendar and fundraising opportunities.
