Looking for a choir that’s as fun as it is fabulous? South Wales Gay Men’s Chorus is an award-winning group that sings, performs, and laughs its way across the UK and Europe. From our big Christmas and Summer concerts to marching at Prides, we love bringing music and joy to every stage. Plus, we’re not just about singing—we’re all about socialising, with group dinners, camping trips, and plenty of adventures!
Whether you're a seasoned singer or just love to hum in the shower, we’d love to have you with us! No auditions, no pressure—just good music and great company. Our members are a diverse mix of gay, bi, trans, non-binary, and straight folks, all singing together in harmony.
Where & When?
Join us every Thursday at Roath Church House from 7:30-9:30pm. We kick off with a warm-up, take a tea break, and sometimes even head out for a post-rehearsal drink!
Not a music reader? No worries!
Most of us learn by ear, so whether you read music or not, you’ll fit right in.
Performing
If performing seems daunting, don’t worry—there's no pressure. Some members love rehearsals and socialising, while others jump right into performances when they feel ready. Whether it's a big concert or a relaxed pub gig, you’ll find your place in our choir.
Support & Community
We’re more than just a choir—we’re a supportive community. If you ever need extra help or feel uncertain, reach out to your section leader or a committee member. We’re all in this together!
Communication
We use Slack to stay connected, share music, and chat about performances or social events. It’s easy to use, and we’ll help you get set up when you join!
Come as You Are
We embrace every voice, from bass to tenor, and offer help to find the perfect section for you. A bit of movement (or "choralography") is sometimes included, but it's simple and accessible to everyone.
Uniforms
For formal gigs, we wear a smart, stylish uniform (which we provide, apart from trousers and shoes). Casual events like Pride? We rock our branded T-shirts with jeans or shorts.
Free First Month
Try us out for free! Monthly subs are affordable (£12), with concession rates available (£8). We’ll be in touch when your trial ends to set up a standing order.
Members are also able to pay a voluntary top up rate if they can afford to do so.This helps fund access for others who may not be unable to cover the full cost of a membership but wish to take part.
We can’t wait to meet you! Ready to raise your voice? Email hello@swgmc.co.uk to let us know you'll be coming along.
